GreeneHurlocker is proud to help showcase an exceptionally-talented visual artist who just happens to do his painting in the Shenandoah Valley, the location of our Harrisonburg office. Keith Mills’ latest works, in an exhibit entitled The Spirit of Things, runs throughout June at the Smith House Galleries at 311 S. Main Street in Harrisonburg, VA.
“This exhibit is worth a drive of any length,” says our Harrisonburg partner Jared Burden. “It’s serendipity that GreeneHurlocker occupies the second floor of the Smith House, because we’re blessed with being able to see these paintings all month!”
Mills studied painting and printmaking at James Madison University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He lives outside Harrisonburg with his wife Kathleen, son Quintas, and their dog Junebug. The family operated Laughing Dog Studios in Downtown Harrisonburg for three decades.
Mills’ paintings explore the seen and unseen aspects of the universe in which we live, according to the Arts Council of the Valley (ACV), which manages the gallery and curates its exhibitions. Visitors are invited to view the June 7-25 exhibition Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11 am to 4 pm. Smith House Galleries is located at 311 South Main Street, Harrisonburg. The exhibition will also be accessible June 1-25 through the ACV website.
