Steven Skaist is an associate in GreeneHurlocker’s Richmond, Virginia office. Serving the firm’s energy clients, as well as businesses across an array of other industries. Steven’s guidance is practical, flexible, and tailored to each client’s unique objectives. His legal advice is rooted in a deep understanding of a client’s business objectives, which enables him to help leaders and organizations develop strategy, think creatively, and strengthen organizational relationships to help realize efficiencies, manage risk and bolster growth.
Steven has significant experience serving as outside general counsel to companies, and advising on an array of corporate, transactional and regulatory matters. Working closely with private companies, investors and nonprofit organizations, Steven assists with capital raises, financing, mergers and acquisitions, structuring business entities, commercial and joint venture agreements, and regulatory compliance. He also regularly advises on shareholder and operating agreements, board of directors and management structuring, and alternative exit or business succession planning.
Steven earned his law degree at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a senior articles editor for the Virginia Tax Review, a member of the Virginia Law & Business Society (VLBS), and served as a site supervisor and tax preparer for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. He was honored with the Dean’s Scholarship.
