The Night Before the Journey to Japan

Each summer, teams from Richmond Little League play teams from Saitama, Japan.  My son Avi and I are excited to be in the Richmond contingent traveling to Japan this year. All in, there are 22 11- and 12-year-olds and 11 chaperones, and we depart Richmond Wednesday morning! There are also other parents and family members traveling with us.

Tomorrow we will fly to Chicago, run around the city a bit, and then hit the Cubs-Diamondbacks game at Wrigley Field. We depart for Tokyo on Thursday, where we will stay with host families. The kids will play three or four games during our time in Japan, we will attend a Japanese professional game, and see a lot of sites.

My goal is to use this blog to keep everyone updated about our Japanese adventures. It is an awesome group of people on the trip, and will meet many wonderful people and do some really cool stuff throughout the next 10 days. I also want to use this blog to record personal memories of my time exploring a different culture and country (and playing baseball) with Avi. I’ll try to post some pictures now and then.

So, please check this blog periodically and allow me to share my adventures with you!

And now I need to go pack and learn a few Japanese words….

Sayanora for now,

Brian
